ICT Assessor / Coach (Distance Learning)

Basis: Full Time 37.5 hours PW

Salary: £24,000 per annum

Location: Home based (travel to Manchester required)

The E learn Skills Coach is responsible for front line support of their students, working as a teaching professional, providing curricular and pastoral support consistently and reliably across their caseload. This requires highly developed communication and customer care skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • To provide a friendly and supportive service to students, using a range of communication media, being prepared to provide support both educationally and pastorally, enabling students to reach their goals and fulfil their potential.
  • To provide structure and focus to assist the students in managing their workload and making continued progress through their course and report any concerns to the relevant Head of Department.
  • To provide telephone, e‐mail and video conferencing tutor support for a caseload of students
  • To respond to emails within specified time frames or response times
  • To provide constructive feedback, complete mark sheets, mark and return all student work, within agreed time frames
  • To maintain records of all student contact using the correct documentation and collect evaluation information
  • To work within the framework set out by Awarding Bodies or other accrediting agencies, including verification and moderation systems, whether set internally or externally
  • To attend regular team meetings and participate in cross‐marking and moderation where required
  • To read, digest and take appropriate action, meeting deadlines as required, arising from regular updates or communications from Senior Management
  • To accurately and consistently update staff and student records on the internal portal

Required skills & experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant industrial/commercial experience in the specified occupational area (E)
  • Experience of assessing in the specified occupational area (E)
  • Level 3 qualification in relevant occupational area (E)
  • Minimum of PTTLS qualification or equivalent (E)
  • Level 2 English and Maths at minimum Grade C (or equivalent) (E)
  • Level 2 ICT qualification at minimum Grade C (or equivalent) (E)
  • Assessing award - A1/D32/D33 or equivalent (E)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) (E)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current initiatives relating to the specified occupational area (E)
  • Ability to assess effectively utilising a range of technology (E)
  • Strong organisational, time management and administrative skills (E)
  • Ability to liaise effectively with employers and/or external agencies (E)
  • Ability to meet targets of timely success (E)
